Jocelyn K. Schauer
MD
Dr. Jocelyn Schauer grew up in the city of San Francisco, CA. She attended college at Stanford University and medical school at the University of California, Los Angeles. In 1991, she moved to Charlottesville to begin her pediatric training at the University of Virginia. Upon completion of her residency in 1994, she joined the UVa general pediatric faculty, working primarily at the Northridge office. In 2002, she joined Piedmont Pediatrics, where, in addition to seeing patients, she endlessly tinkers on the electronic medical record templates and office Facebook page. Jocelyn and her husband, Ashley, are now empty nesters, as their two children, Tim and Lisi, have gone back to her home state of California for college. (The Schauers still have 2 cats and a West Highland Terrier to keep them company, fortunately.) In her spare time, Jocelyn enjoys reading, all visual arts (photography, drawing, painting, visiting museums, and especially watching movies), cooking, traveling, and church activities. She also serves on the boards of two non-profit organizations: Foothills Child Advocacy Center (www.foothillscac.org) and International Response to Improve Sight (www.iris2020.org). (She encourages all to check out these great causes!)
